Meet the Owner
Kat Georgia
Kat is an outdoor enthusiast with a background in marine and environmental biology, a passion for adventure, and a love of wild spaces. She has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, guided sea kayaking trips, and lived out of both a tent and a converted ambulance. With years of experience in the backcountry and a knack for connecting people to nature, she thrives on creating meaningful experiences in the outdoors.

The Story of The Iceberg Inn
The idea for The Iceberg Inn didn’t come from a single moment—it grew out of a quiet realization that life could feel different than the constant push of schedules, noise, and expectations. I wanted to create something that offered both freedom and intention: a place where work and life could exist on my own terms, and where others could step into that feeling, even if just for a few days. The Inn is a reflection of that pursuit—a remote, wild space designed not just as a destination, but as an experience of simplicity, perspective, and possibility. It’s an invitation to slow down, breathe deeper, and remember what it feels like to be fully present in a place that doesn’t ask anything of you except to be there.
Sustainability

Eco Initiatives
At The Iceberg Inn, we operate thoughtfully in one of the most stunning and fragile environments in the world. Our operations run almost entirely on solar power, uses rainwater catchment, and avoids surfactant-based shampoos to reduce impact on the surrounding waters. Every detail, from low-waste practices to eco-conscious amenities, is designed to let you experience this glacier lagoon responsibly.

Guests are encouraged to connect with the landscape mindfully — whether that’s spotting wildlife, exploring the lagoon, or simply appreciating the view. Small choices, like thoughtful sourcing and sustainable operations, help protect this incredible place while still offering an unforgettable experience.
Looking ahead, supporting scientific research is a goal close to our hearts. We hope to assist glaciologists studying tidewater glaciers and jökulhlaups (glacial outburst floods), so that one day your visit can also contribute to understanding and preserving this ever-changing environment.
